About Us
Koinonia is a joint commitment between Christ Church UMC and Evergreen UMC to praise our God by serving our neighbors offering our hearts, hope, and hospitality.

Our Membership:
Members of the garden are not required to be members of a church. Anyone from the community is invited to join the garden. All ages are welcome! There are many tasks for varied skill levels and interests. Members of the garden are asked to be mindful that their personal behavior and all social interaction with other garden members, as well as the community at large, conforms to Christian ideals of love, mutual respect, and non-judgment of one another as described in the Disciple of United Methodist Church under which this garden
operates.

Our Means:
Evergreen UMC hosts the site location and provides electricity, well water and rest rooms. Koinonia is responsible for the purchase of seeds, supplies and structures through membership dues, fundraisers, Garden Angles and other grant resources.

Our Methods:
Koinonia is an all- inclusive gardening community. What this means is that we all plant and harvest together.. We decide as a group what goes into our garden. Donations of overflow are also given to the Take and Eat Pantry, which is operated out of Evergreen Church. We do not use chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Hand tools, educational instruction and Garden Managers will be on hand on garden work days to ensure a productive and fun experience. It is suggested that members bring their own bottled water, sunscreen and insect repellant. The church restrooms are always available for use. Children are encouraged to garden with their parents and be supervised by them for the child’s safety.
