     Service Opportunities

    •  Make a Meal - Want to help out members and friends who are just home from the hospital, grieving the loss of a loved one, or celebrating the joyfully harried life with a new baby in the house?  Show the love of Christ by preparing and delivering a meal.  To help, please contact the church office (919-969-8820; ).


    • Donate to the Ongoing Food Collection at Interfaith Council (IFC) - Help stock the IFC's food pantry by donating non perishable foods, toiletry items, and clean blankets.  Donations may be placed in the two drawers in the large, built-in cabinet across from the coffee maker in Ascension Hall.


    • Serve Breakfast to Homeless Men and Women at the IFC - Every Sunday morning, a team from CUMC cooks and prepares breakfast.  Contact Dawn Streets ( ) to be added to the schedule.


    • Be a Stephen Minister - Stephen Ministers are congregational members who receive special training to provide one-to-one Christian care for people at CUMC and in the community who are experiencing grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, and other life difficulties.  To learn how to become (or receive care from) a Stephen Minister, contact the church office ( ; 969-8820).


    •  Please help a member walk to/from Sunday services.   If you can help out occasionally, please contact Kay Dunson (210-6738; ).  This member will attend any morning service and lives very near the church.


    • Be a Sunday morning greeter!  No experience necessary.  Requirements:  arrive 15 minutes before the service, bring a warm smile, & welcome people to our church. Please contact Hurt Covington with your telephone number and/or email address and the service that you wish to work ( ; 967-4422).
