Habitat for Humanity
On Saturday work days, help provide adequate housing for low income families in Orange and Chatham Counties. No construction experience is necessary.

Each spring, volunteers "Turn Dresses into Dreams" for high school girls who could not otherwise afford to attend their prom. Even more than a dress, this project provides a fabulous opportunity to show God’s love and grace to 80 high school girls from the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.
Interfaith Council (IFC) Breakfasts
Each Sunday, since Christ Church's inception, teams of 5 people prepare and serve breakfast at the homeless shelter in downtown Chapel Hill. Beginning at 6 am, the crew prepares scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, toast & sweet rolls, sausage, grits, juice, and fresh fruit that is served to 75-90 hungry people. A six-month, rotating volunteer schedule is created each January and June.
Faith Connections On Mental Illness
A group of people from churches throughout our community who determine ways faith communities can better minister to people with mental illness and their families. These individuals seek to remove the stigma related to mental illness and to advocate on behalf of those with these conditions.
A hunger prevention program which gives participating children loaner backpacks on Fridays that contain healthy food for the weekend. On Mondays, the backpacks are returned to be filled again. Go to TABLE to find out more.

Annual Christmas gift tree helping local families in need to have a brighter Christmas. If you are a family in need of Angel Tree gifts please come to our church office to fill out an application on the first Monday in October.
SNACK (Summer Nutritional Assistance for Chatham Kids) feeds local children during the summer months, when subsidized school meals are unavailable. SNACK provides a box of food weekly to eligible families. Interested in getting involved?
The Pastor's Benevolence Fund

Koinonia Community Garden
Koinonia is a joint effort between Christ UMC and Evergreen UMC right down the road. Our Garden is located at 11098 US HYW. 15-501 N, Chapel Hill, NC 27517 on Evergreen UMC's property.
Youth Mission Trips
Our Youth Team leads two youth mission trips each summer: one for middle school students and one for high school students.
Our church has a sponsorship with an orphanage in Russia through Children's Hope Chest. The beauty of this mission is the lasting relationship formed with these orphans through letter-writing, sponsoring a child, and trips in the spring and fall. To read all about Mission 1:27, click here.
Beyond Our Borders (BOB)
Join this group of CUMC members working with missions outside the U.S. Currently, BOB is working with five different missions in Londrina, Brazil, one in Nicaragua, and one in the Ukraine. Click here to learn more.
Compassion Med International (CMI)
CMI is a local, non-profit Christian organization whose purpose is to provide international medical relief around the world. CMI believes that we should “ . . . comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God” (2 Cor 1:3-4).
