Music Ministry in Christ Church’s 25-year history has always been a vital part of the worshiping community. At its present location when the sanctuary was built (1999-2008) Roger Searles led the Chancel Choir, Children’s Choir, and founded the 3-octave handbell choir. Musicians, young and old, ministered in worship, via two cantatas, and one annual concert .

In Christ Church’s 2nd decade, Dr. Daniel Steinert, AAGO, added Lent/Advent recitals, a second “Benevolence” Concert each year, in addition to raising over $20,000 to support local mission work in Chapel Hill/Carrboro/North Chatham County. Other music ministry endeavors include: outreach performances to retirement centers by the 5-octave Chancel Bells, Prison Ministry, MLK Day and Fat Tuesday “Ready Singers” performances. Plus cantatas with orchestra draw people to Worship the Lord with...organ, harp, trumpets and strings, and “BlesSings” leading the choral voices. Singers from CUMC also had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2017, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation!
